Memories...

Life is change…

One moment, you are overshadowed and the next you are underneath the bright, bright sunlight. A person's life is ever changing, drifting through different phases. Each phase of your life teaches you an important lesson, makes you a different person altogether and leaves behind.. memories! Sweet, sour, bitter memories. And sometimes all you have to hold on to are these!

Well, in my case now, I'm close to the end of perhaps the most important era of my life: School. 15 years of waking up at the crack of the dawn, dressing up groggily, boarding that rickety school bus, yawning through the morning assembly, attending those boring class lectures [standing out through half of them], buttering up teachers, the lunch-breaks, endless gossip and later those bitching sessions with friends, homework, punishments, exams, the moments of ecstasy after scoring high, and the moments of distress and blaming the teacher if scored low, dreading the parent-teacher meetings, the school picnics, the discipline, bunking classes with the fear of getting caught, friends, fights, crushes, heartbreaks.. What not! And now, suddenly, all will be gone. Snapped off out of the blue. No more carrying the label of being a “school-girl.” College brings responsibilities with it. And takes away the “innocence” tag..

All there will be left of it are memories. Of friends, teachers, everything.

We part with a promise of never losing contact, never forgetting each other and always remain the best of friends. And amidst all this, I can’t help but wonder: Is it really going to last?

I ask you, are you still in contact with all your school friends? And if you’re still in school, will you always be?

We all will get into different colleges, move to different cities, meet new people, make new friends, then get some jobs, get married, have a family of our own. Everything’s going to change. Then when are we going to find time for the long lost era? All the promises will seem childish then and seemingly impossible too. Maybe we’ll remember them once or twice in our lifetime… And meet them at reunions or so. Things change, people change and life goes on.

It’s heartbreaking to think of it now. Some of the people who hold such importance in my life now will become mere memories. Shadows of what once was. “The saddest part of life is when someone you know becomes someone you knew.”

And yet I promise. I promise to remain in touch till the end. . I promise, to never let go. I promise to remain their friend forever…

Change is life…

Lessons Learnt:
1. Life’s keeps drifting through different phases and leaves behind only a handful of memories!
2. Everything changes: you have to live with it.
3. Things don’t usually turn out the way we hope.
4. If you really try, you can prove the one above wrong! ;)

Intelligence? or Education?

How do you define Intelligence? Does Intelligence mean coming first in your class? Does Intelligence mean cracking IIT or PMT in the first attempt? Or does it mean spending 20 hrs glued to your textbook? Does being intelligent means being literate or educated?

Why do people judge a person's Intelligence by the subject he takes up or the marks he/she gets in the stupid school examinations? Its a general fallacy, that a person who takes up Math is Super-Intelligent and the person who takes up Arts is a good-for-nothing moron!! A normal student today is under so much pressure! Parents, peers, teachers - He's so many people to answer to!

There are SO MANY times when we're prejudiced by the marks we get or we fail in some apparently stupid tests!! "Intelligence just means taking the right decisions at the right time in the right way." So, according to this statement, even uneducated people can be intelligent, can't they? So many people in so many places are under-estimated because people are so blind that they cant see how brilliant they really are. Each person, unless he's mentally retarded, is blessed with a special talent, a special ability with which he can add beauty to this world!! If a person is a good artist and not-so-good at science, why do we only have to point out his cons? Why can't we encourage his talents?? Why do we have to suppress him SO much that he starts feeling inferior??

If people only do what THEY want to do, rather than going with the mob, this world would be such a better place. It should be YOU who decides you are intelligent or not, and not some random person. For once, we all should try to live our lives by our rules. And, one more thing, next time you question a person's so-called "intelligence" or "ability", just think bout the thing you're worse at..!!

Till next time,

Ta-Daaan!!

Lessons Learnt:
1. Every person is intelligent in his own way.
2. We are the one who define our lives, not others.
3. Not one is perfect.

Why??

Why does it happen sometimes that a major event in your life does not affect you the way it should and a small, insignificant thing or action leaves you greatly disturbed? Is the human heart so weak that it can’t cope up with a blow that wasn’t even intentional? Why is Love the most powerful thing, which can be the most beautiful and, at the same time, most devastating thing in your life? Why does it happen that you start hating the person you desperately love and even start falling in love with a person you despise? Why do changes have to be so hard? Why can’t a friend be there for us when we need him or her? Why does it happen that the person we trusted the most turns out the most untrustworthy person around? Why can’t we live our lives the way we want to and not let others define it [Its OUR life after all!]? Why doesn't death come easily and at the time we want it to come? Why do we have to go to school? Why can’t people accept us the way we are and not the way we should be? Why is this life so long and yet not enough? Why do people hurt others? Why do other people get hurt when we don’t mean to hurt them? Why does the friendship of years end with an enmity that lasts even longer? Why do some songs make you cry? Why do we cry? Why is crying weakness in some eyes? Why can’t some people just see through us even when we want them to and others can? Why am I asking these questions?

Any Answers????

A not-so-Happy Republic Day To You!

Today's an important day. The Republic Day Of India - the day when our India was declared a Socialist, Secular and Democratic Republic. Once again we're reminded of the leaders who framed our constitution, martyrs who laid their lives for this country and all those known and unknown people because of whom we breathe in a free nation.

But, was it worth it?

They dreamed of an India in which people will live united as INDIANS- not in which a person's caste will come before his character.

They thought they're gifting the future generation our nation for them to beautify and enrich it - not for them to exploit it for selfish gains.

They hoped that India will grow to be the most beautiful, hospitable and, yes, most developed country in the world - not that India will be named a third world country.

I'm not writing this to list all the social and economic problems of India. Nearly every mature Indian knows them by heart. And I am certainly not suggesting that nobody hasn't done anything yet. But, the thing is, have we done enough?

The answer is NO. We haven't done enough. What India lacks today is PATRIOTISM. I know many people would disagree with me. Nearly every Indian loves his country. Aren't they patriotic..!!!

Again, the answer is no. Patriotism isn't just about standing stiff during the national anthem or singing patriotic songs. Nor is it about watching a handful of "DESHBHAKTI" flicks and sobbing at the climax. Now Honestly tell me, how many of you have kept politics as a career option. I'm not sure if many of you can say yes. That's the problem with today's youth, including me. We know all about India's prevailing problems but instead of trying to solve it, we're running away from it. Tell me, if a part of your body's diseased - will you try to cure it or just ignore it? So why isn't our attitude same when it comes to our country!!! OK, agreed that everyone can't go into politics. But there's a lot one can do no matter in which position he is. Because all of us share one common position - that of an Indian. Serving your country doesn't only mean joining the army and sacrificing your life for this country. Be honest in your work. Place your country's welfare before yours. Condemn corruption. Eradicate illiteracy. There are endless things you can do. This country has to be freed from the clutches of power hungry men. This country has got to change. Take the responsibility to change it...

Fallacies and Prejudice..

Why do people make assumptions about a person when they don't even know him or her. I mean just because you have seen a girl and a boy together means they're a couple. And that if a girl hangs out with guys means she's a slut. What on earth do you have to do with it? For heaven's sake GO MIND YOUR OWN DAMN BUSINESS!!!!!!

These things which people say dont just ruin a person's reputation, it puts a BIG question mark on his character. Which goes with him throughout his life. So why do people ruin something so precious. Today, even if a person's heart's clear, and he bears absolutely no wrong intentions in his mind, he's labeled with a thousand kinda names and labels concerning his character, his appearence, his company, his hairstyle and what not!! I mean, GET A GRIP YOU LOSERS!!!

The problem is, people do not think before they pass a comment on someone. They dont think that how'd they feel if the same kinda comment was passed on their brother or sister or for the heck of it - themselves!! Its really easy to pass judgement about a person by just looking at him but it takes guts to go and get to know that person. So next time, before you say anything about the person you dont know well enough, just think twice how would you feel if someone passed the same judgement on you.

Till next time,

Take care...

Sayonara!!

Lessons Learnt:

1. Don't say what you dont know about.
2. Its easy to pass judgement on an unknown but it takes courage to get to
know a person.

The "Egoistic" Love?

Has it ever happened to you when your so called "EGO" has come between you and the person you really adore - your parents, friends, boyfriend or girlfriend?? At one point or another, there comes a time in a relationship where there are ego clashes between two persons. And I am not talking bout any relationship but bout those who really matter..

Now i give you something to ponder upon. If you know that you really love a person, then from where the hell this "EGO" thing crops up in between?? I mean, that certainly ain't right, is it? According to me, Ego is an essential quality which a person must have. But when it comes to relationships, ego can be devastating... It can ruin them forever!!

You know, when you look back at the times when your ego has taken over love, you'll realise that it was a mistake after all. Dignity is one thing, which should not be lost at any cost. But its sometimes okay if you put your ego aside, especially for the ones you love. And, after all, love is the most beautiful thing that a person can do...

Till next time,
Sayonara

Lessons Learnt:
1. Ego kills love
2. Dignity should not be confused with ego
3. Love's the greatest gift a person can give

Hello...

Well.. to start with, this happens to be my first blog and am starting this because I find it easier to pen (in this case - type) down any stuff rather than to speak it out. But don't get a wrong impression, I am too talkative.. You'll find out eventually if you keep reading my blogs!

Why does it happen that when others make the same mistake we once did, it seems much BIGGER? I mean, hello? Get A Life!! You did the same thing!! And when the "other" is us, it does hurt a lot. I'm not sure if you understand what I am saying but my point is, isn't it better that that we forgive a person? We're humans after all!! I mean EVERYONE makes mistakes! Then why does it happen that we forgive some and not others. An that too for the same mistake and such a tiny one..!!! Don't you think so??

Anyway, time to take a leave..
Don't forget to post a comment..!!
Till next time,
Sayonara!

Lessons Learnt:
1. Forgive and forget... (!)
2. Dont commit the same mistakes as others did.
